Requirements

Any Mac running Mac OS 7.1 or higher. This program is Mac OS 8.0, 8.6, and 9.0 savvy!

What is Sound Shuffler?
Sound Shuffler is a control panel that randomizes the Mac system alert beep. It also plays sounds in a 'Sounds' folder located in the System Folder. Just drop sounds in this folder, and Sound Shuffler immediately takes advantage of them. Sound Shuffler plays all sounds asynchronously, which means that you won't have to wait for the sounds to play. They will play without hogging the processor. This allows you to continue to work. Any sound can be stopped by pressing the 'Esc' key.

Sound Shuffler even lets you play sounds at random times, using the random sound slider in the control panel. You can set the length of the delay that Sounds Shuffler awaits.

Note: If you have an older version of Sound Shuffler installed, be sure to remove it before loading this new version.

Freeware
This program is freeware, which means that you can use it at no cost. You may also pass it around freely as long as you include this read me and the help documents.

Distribution
Sound Shuffler can be distributed by anyone (magazines, CDs, user groups, etc.), as long as this document is included. Please don't distribute it in parts or without the read me. You DON'T have to ask me for permission to include the program in your distribution, but it is appreciated if you do.

Please do not modify the program in any way, a lot of work has gone into it and it would be a shame to see it hacked.
