Welcome to the RealProducer G2 from RealNetworks. RealProducer G2 lets you convert your audio and video files into RealNetworks RealMedia format. The software and documentation are provided to you in accordance with your license agreement.

This version of RealProducer G2 includes the following new features:

* Live capture and encoding of audio and video to RealMedia files.
* The latest video codec, RealVideo G2 with SVT (Scalable Video Technology).
* Two new music codecs with higher frequency response.

Known Issues

1. Unable To Launch RealProducer G2, Insufficient Memory - this is a known issue with RealProducer G2 on systems with less than 64MB of RAM. A possible workaround is to reduce the preferred memory for RealProducer G2 from 18MB to 12MB.

2. Unable To Upload Files To ISP Using Publishing Wizard - RealProducer G2 requires an FTP utility such as Anarchie or Fetch to be installed on your system in order to publish Web pages. Either one of these FTP utilities can be downloaded from a variety of freeware/shareware sites. Anarchie is available for download from http://www.stairways.com and Fetch is available for download from http://www.dartmouth.edu/pages/softdev.

3. ATI Xclaim VR Drivers - To use ATI Xclaim VR cards for recording on Power Macintosh G3 computers, update to version 4.0.1 or later of the ATI drivers. Check http://www.atitech.com for the latest information and driver updates.

4. RealPlayer G2 Returns 'Plug-In Not Available' Error When Connecting to RealServer 5.0 - Files created by RealProducer G2 are only compatible with RealServer G2. Check the RealServer that you are using and ensure that it is a G2 version of the RealServer.

5. RealPlayer G2 Returns 'File Not Found' Error When Connecting to RealServer 5.0 - Files created by RealProducer G2 are only compatible with RealServer G2. Check the RealServer that you are using and ensure that it is a G2 version of the RealServer.

6. Uncompressed Quicktime Movies Cannot Be Encoded - uncompressed QuickTime movies created on SGI machines and exported to windows format cannot be encoded and RealProducer G2 will report that file format is not supported.

7. Files Created With The Allow Download Option Enabled Do Not Playback On Audible Players - To enable playback on the Audible Player you must select the 6.5K Voice Codec in the Target Audiences Dialog.

8. Unable To Copy or Paste into Clip Information Fields - this is a known issue with Mac OS 8.1.

9. RealProducer G2 Crashes When Encoding Multiple Files With AppleScript - this is a known issue with this release after encoding multiple clips in a row with different input file types with the Stats dialog open. A possible workaround is to close the stats dialog when encoding multiple files with different input file types
